Yes its only 27 miles but honestly? Given the amount of rough and ready off-road it’s a tough one on the legs. Not to be attempted on anything other than a good mountain, gravel or hybrid bike.
Even though much of the ride is just outside Marlborough, you’re going to be surprised by just how remote stretches of this are. On far-flung farm tracks, you may well not even find a tractor, let alone a person.
With some quiet and pretty Downland villages tucked in-between, a long pedal through the majestic Savernake forest and whole heap of cycling along tiny lanes, its a great full day out with a friend.
