I think of this ride as the Behind-The-Scenes Cotswold’s. Ie forgotten lanes, quiet hamlets and where people are just going about living their lives, unfettered by tourists (except for Woodstock – that gets a fair few visitors in summer as it’s on the doorstep of Blenheim). The villages are exceptionally pretty, in fact, they are Cotswold picture-perfect.
The first half of the ride potters through these pretty villages, and actually, past the back gate to Blenheim – through which you have the most terrific view of the Great Park.
After Woodstock, the second half of the ride is nothing short of idyllic. The sleepiest lanes, beautiful countryside views and two-by-two riding pretty much all the way.
