How many ways can you say, ‘pretty village’ ? Not enough it turns out. This ride is stuffed full of them with open farmland in between. It’s basically pretty village / beautiful farmland / pretty village / beautiful farmland / pretty village – repeat x 100.
With only a few undulating hills, quite a lot of flat and beautiful riverine scenery it’s an easy day out on a bike. Enjoy!

A latecomer to this book (ie I didn’t know it was there when I cycled past but now I do), but worth a mention is the little café at Bampton Garden Plants. With a bike shed to leave bikes in the carpark and choice of two cafes both are welcoming to weary cyclists and serve up coffee, cakes and sausage rolls as well as sandwiches, soups, quiches and more....
