Having done all the rides in the book I can honestly say, that this is the most beautiful. Fact.

It is as if a preservation order was slapped over this entire wodge of countryside a few hundred years ago, together with a ‘thou shalt not build anything ugly’ decree and the result is that this area is idyllic.

The ten villages you will pass through have cottages with roses growing above the door,  stone bridges over crystal clear streams, ducks dabbling in duck ponds and meadows strewn with buttercups. Even the cows have bells on (in Bibury – who knew?!). Furthermore, between the villages what do you have? Quiet roads, peaceful countryside, gentle rolling hills and open skies.

It was blown away when I first did this ride and I hope you will be too. It is one to take slowly, enjoy over a long morning or perhaps even a day out (plenty of extra little villages to add little loops to). Then, exploring at a gentle pace, you’ll be able to really appreciate what our beautiful British countryside has to offer.
